We just completed our latest photo shoot last week, and wanted to show you guys more about our most stunning location yet - a working farm in Kangaroo Valley, NSW called Brogers End.
The owners have renovated both the old dairy and the old shed, from way back in the day when they milked the cows by hand and used animals to power the plough. They've expanded on the 'run down' theme, and crafted everything (including the walls!) from old, recycled materials.
They now offer both beautiful spaces for weekend getaways, family holidays or as an amazing backdrop for a little big business to carry out her latest photo shoot.
A creative recycler's DREAM, they have used such an eclectic array of pieces to perform the the most simple of tasks. Wandering through the house searching for (and finding) more creativity, it inspires us to look at everything anew. To wonder again what we can use discarded items for.
This one was my favourite - an old hand drill used as a towel rack! Who would’ve thunk it! Everywhere you looked it was old weathered, natural, organic materials even down to the built in rust.
The gardens were pretty spectacular as well (of course). We did most of our shooting outdoors, as there were lots of special places and hide away holes you needed to explore to find.
Our Shiva-ji found her spot! Tucked away during the hottest part of the day amongst the ash underneath the outdoor pizza oven.
If you're ever in the area we suggest you do yourself a favour and stay here for a night or two. They're booked out on weekends months in advance so get in early.
Until next time,
Mel Xx
